| Customer Reviews: Tons of variety April 13, 2010 R. Gemmiti 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As a Gorillaz fan myself, there is a little bit of a bias here. Their music is so different and strange, yet so catchy and rythmic at the same time. Once you get used to that idea, it gets to be a really great album. I don't have the DVD version, so I'm only reviewing the music. They have a good mix of many styles in this album. Theres a bit of rap (Welcome to the world of the Plastic Beach), slow songs (Some Kind of Nature), happy fast-paced music (On Melancholy Hill), background music with minimal words (Stylo), a hint of soul (Cloud of Unknowing), and even a track that sounds like a theme song for Donkey Kong (Broken). Most of these tracks are based around the environment, but still require some personal interpretation. One of my favourite albums of the year; It's been on repeat for a bit longer than a week now (And counting). Every song is good!
Another great one April 11, 2010 G. Holman (BC Canada) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great album.
If I had to say one thing bad about this recording is that maybe its a bit rap heavy.
