Recollection is a truly wonderful collection of songs, from the past 25 years of kd langs musical career. Recollections is an excellent way to introduce people, who don't really know kd lang's music, to her amazing and beautiful voice. And of course any k.d lang fan will HAVE to have it! It is suitable for any occasion, and indeed, will enhance any occasion, whether it be a quiet time at home, a dinner party, a romantic evening, music for a road trip, anything.
Recollection is like a gorgeous buffet, with many different and delicious dishes to sample.
Feast upon this auditory cordon bleu treat!
You will not be disappointed.

This double CD is a marvellous retrospective that accurately showcases k.d.'s natural vocal artistry.
During her 25 years in the industry she slowly became regarded as one of the most highly praised female vocalists on the planet.
This Canadian vocalist gradually achieved unanimous praise and recognition from a cynical music industry without having to revert to questionable vocal acrobatics often associated with other current female vocalists.
k.d. does not aspire to grab her audience's attention by performing insincere vocal acrobatics.
Although she is known to emotionally wrench out the lyrical content within a song with a subtle vocal nuance, she excell as a vocalist when softly conquering any musical style with an impressive yet restrained vocal range.
The bulk of the material contained on this collection is ballad inspired.
KD's soothing vocal delivery is pure and in the same vein as other timeless female musical vocalists such as; Ella, Rosemary and Karen Carpenter.
K.D's label originally introduced her to the public at large with releases such as SHADOWLANDS. At first, the label promoted her as being a new alternative country vocalist - the first track upon CD 1 does allow you to hear the single TRAIL OF BROKEN HEARTS as well as the 6th track WESTERN STARS.
These tracks immediately supplied her with instant adulation from adoring country fans claiming her to be the next Patsy Cline.
Whether performing from a country, standards or pop repertoire - kd's vocal delivery remains impressively pure and comforting.
Through the years her image as a singer progressively evolved into being regarded as an awe-inspiring vocalist who successfully interprets melody line and lyrical content.
One has to only listen once to her passionate and polished vocal delivery of Leonard Cohen's HALLELUJAH to confirm this statement.
The touching remake of HALLELUJAH, as sung by KD at the opening ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics, is worth the entire price of this collection.
One should note; there are two versions of this song available upon this double CD.
The track heard on CD2 is not the identical version available upon her previous 2004 release "Hymns of the 49th Parallel" which can also be found on CD1.
The tasteful yet simple packaging of this product remains within the true essence of this Artist - its unpretentious and environmentaly friendly.
The generous content available on this double CD will only develop within you a thirst to hear and acquire more from her complete catalogue.
Musically this product is very much worth its price in Gold!
