| Customer Reviews: Fabulous! June 21, 2010 Andie (Coquitlam, Canada) This Celtic Woman production continues at the high level of all the previous DVD's they have made. The musical direction is superb and all the performers out of this world. Highly recommended for anyone who loves beautiful music at its best.
Stay with their earlier works... Don't bother with this one. May 22, 2010 V. Lee (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
First off, I got this as a gift for my sister's birthday. She loves Celtic Woman. However, after watching the DVD, well, I just wanted to pull my ears off and gouge eyes out; so did my sister. This is definitely not their best work. Their earlier work is much better than this.
The concert is bland. It felt like no moods or feelings were put into the songs they sing. Everyone sounds exactly the same and therefore, makes the songs sound very monotonous. Angelic vocals are nice to hear, but not all songs suit that range. When You Believe sounded flat. Fields of Gold is not an upbeat song. It is mellow, solemn and it definitely doesnt fit their vocal style. True Colours was just equally butchered by their vocals. There seems to be no diversity in what they sing, which is sad. They seem very talented, but seem to know only how to do one thing only. And as such causes repetition which over time just becomes boring. Nothing new or fresh here.
The choreography was not the greatest. Watching Chloe perform some of it made me cringe. It wasnt natural and did not suit the singer. And whats with the Barbie stances anyways with the bent arms when standing still with no motion? Honestly, I couldnt stand it. What were they thinking?
Their wardrobe was just as ghastly. I mean Mairead had a dress that had what resembles a belly bib on it. In all honesty, the backup singers had better wardrobe than the leading ladies.
And lastly, the DVD quality is the worst I have ever seen in both audio and video. Actual quality seen and heard is equivalent to an old and used VHS. And I have heard this was actually recorded in HD?! They could have had the decency to release it on Blu-ray.
After seeing this, I really wish I hadnt gotten it. Money couldve been spent on a better gift for my sister. Its not enjoyable or entertaining to watch. Unless you are a VERY HUGE FAN of Celtic Woman, I would stay far away from this and stick with their earlier works.
